Findley Lake, NY

A few weeks ago the girls in my family decided to take a little day trip to Findley Lake. What an amazing idea that was.  The trip down was about an hour/hour and a half through the back roads of western New York. And the trees were just about at their peak. It was a gorgeous drive and an even better day to walk around the little old town of Findley Lake. The town had such charm, I was in my glory and I had a smile on my face the whole time. Not to mention I was with my favorite girls in all the world!  We walked around and visited all the stores, antique shops and boutiques, ate a delicious meal (that had concord grape vinaigrette salad dressing...uh-mazing), drove around the lake to dream about some day living in the quaint houses and simply enjoyed the fall view in each others company.
The day was pretty magical.  I fell in love with the town and I can't wait to go back very soon.

Apple Picking

Okay, so I'm opting out of today's Blogtember challenge.
I don't think I'll have time to think of something worth sharing today.
I'm going wine tasting today (hallelujah) and to a Sabres pre-season hockey game tonight.

SO I thought I'd share some pictures from last Saturday instead...

This past weekend I went apple picking at Stonehill Orchard with my mom, Aunt Sandy and cousin Sara.
It was a gorgeous, sunny, fall-type day (in the 60's) and I was giddy with excitement.
It was the first time I've ever gone and it's safe to say it's one of my new favorite fall activities.

It took no time at all to fill up our bushels and I think I took more pictures than actually picked apples...
And now I can't wait to start making apple pies, crisps, tarts and applesauce!

Happy (almost) Fall!

Only Photos...

A weekend spent with my cousins, brothers and boyfriend at my Grandpa's hunting cabin.
Filled with guitar music, hiking, manly men gun shooting (not I, noooo thank you), a scared pup, camp fires, s'mores, spider dogs, shots, the most pristine nature shots and lots of rain.
