Mistakes

Everybody makes mistakes. It's part of life.  It's how we grow.  Making mistakes shapes and molds you as a person.  It teaches you lessons and improves you in one way or another.  Don't ever be afraid of making mistakes.  Sure, I've made mistakes.  Lots of them, actually.  But you know what? I get over them.  I move on.  It's not okay to keep reliving your mistakes and regretting doing things/not doing things.  I used to do that a lot in the past. But now, I live in the moment.  I live in the now.  I live in the present because it is a gift (get it? so punny).  Enjoy your life. Embrace your mistakes. They're what makes you, you.

I needed this...

BLAH!

I've been finding myself clenching my jaw, crying over little things, and keeping quiet for the most part lately...

The reason: stress.

Stress about money and my WAY underpaid job, applications to grad schools and teaching positions, loans and bills, car inspections and repairs, appointments, keeping up with things, keeping in touch, family and friends. I could go on and on.

Gah, stress sucks.

I like to think there's always an upside to a bad story, day, etc.
Here's mine...

Today, I was clicking around on my favorite blogs, checking out their sponsors, etc., sulking about the usual money troubles when I came across Red Parka Diaries.

One of her latest posts, made my day.
Seriously, it made me feel so much better.

Just thought I'd share...

I finally bought a 2013 calendar today at Walmart and was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up when I got home.  You know how all calendars have that cardboard insert to keep the calendar from flopping around? Well this one was different than any other I've ever seen.  It had this written on it:

And of course I can't just throw it out, so I've decided to paint around it, make it pretty and hang it up somewhere in my room.  I'll be sure to post pictures when it's complete! 

Just thought I'd share a little piece of inspiration that made me smile today.
