October Round Up!

So, realizing it's already November is pretty scary business and I'm not a huge fan that 1. There's only TWO more months left in the year and I have lots to accomplish still on my list and 2. winter is right around the corner. YUCK.

October was pretty darn good to me and I was completely swept up by fall and all of its splendor and beauty.  Most of my favorite posts from this month show that...

I went to Findley Lake with all my Wynn girls (except 1) for the day and didn't want to leave...

Took some pictures of a total babe for his new CD.

Shared some pictures of my day trip to gorgeous Letchworth

Shared some pictures from a perfect fall day at Chestnut Ridge.

I also...

Told you what's been making me smile (here and here)

Shared some pictures from Instagram (here and here)

Here's to fall and diving head first into the upcoming holiday season!
(My favorite local radio station is already playing Christmas songs and I'm not even entirely mad about it...)

Letchworth is GORGEous

Letchworth is an absolutely beautiful park, no matter the season. But in fall -oh my lanta- in fall it is breathtaking.  Letchworth is known as the Grand Canyon of the East.  It has gorges all throughout the park with hiking trails, streams and waterfalls. If I could spend every weekend there, I would.  It's so beautifully inspiring.

As Kevin and I were pulling up to the park entrance we hit a traffic jam. I was extremely confused and was wondering if we went the wrong way or if there was an accident or everyone in western New York just had the same idea as us.  We waited in traffic for a solid 20 minutes or so. I finally decided to check my phone to see if something was happening at the park and sure enough we (I) were pleasantly surprised that they were having their annual fall fest craft show! And let me tell you, it was HUGE. Kevin and I got lost. Honest to God, we went in a huge circle twice trying to find our way out of the maze of craft tents. It was awesome.

An old and abandoned home right outside the park
^I tried so hard to make the two pictures line up...close enough.

Kevin and I (along with about 50 other people) decided to sneak up on the Upper Falls railroad track. What a beautiful (bad ass) decision that was. The view was absolutely spectacular!

Told ya it was pretty GORGEous.

The Ridge

A couple weeks ago when the leaves were just starting to change into those crisp, luxurious fall colors my boy and I decided to spend the 70+ degree day at the park.  It was a genius idea if I do say so myself.  We grabbed our things (him: banjo; her: card-making supplies), stopped to get a pumpkin pie ice capp and some timbits from Tim Hortons and we were on our way. We drove around until we found a secluded shelter with plenty of grass and gorgeous scenery. As Kevin strummed his banjo and I sketched out some card designs we enjoyed the sun on our faces and each others company. We watched airplanes fly by, busy bees buzzing, the wind gently swaying the trees and clouds float on. That day was kind of perfect.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Fall can stay awhile...

Alright, it's official. I am in love with fall.
Before I was in denial that summer was over, but now, I can easily say, see ya bikinis ( I never liked you) and helloooo scarves, boots and crunchy leaf footsteps. This weekend my mom and I stopped at a little roadside stand stocked full of delicious fresh vegetables, pumpkins of all sizes, weird-shaped gourdes, freshly picked sunflowers, and beautifully, marbeled and checkered Indian corn. It literally got my giddy with excitement for fall. I wanted to buy a pumpkin of each size to decorate with but of course I have no money and mom said no. whatever.

But, of course, I snapped a few pictures (and would've snapped a thousand more if the place wasn't so crowded and if mom wasn't giving me the stink eye...) of the breathtaking and unmistakable colors of fall...
I just can't get enough!

You can stay awhile, fall.
